I've finally admitted defeat with trying to play 4 tables on a single 15in monitor and have to get something else. It was OK when it was easy to get 4 tables going at P1C, if I could get the right seats I could arrange the tables so I could just about see my cards when they pop up. Playing even 2 or 3 tables on a mix of sites is nearly impossible, especially the ones with dodgy layouts, this is pretty unfortunate seeing as I am a prop! I have also started playing at WPEX and the tables are HUGE so it would be nice to easily see at least 4 of that sort of size.

I can get two 19in monitors or one 20in for the same price (cheap!!). or maybe spend quite a bit more and get a 22in. What does everyone reckon? What do you use? Are there many drawbacks of using two monitors? etc.

I have two wide screen monitors from AOC that have the ability to flip 90 degrees so that you can turn the monitors into a vertical position. You can get three games vertically on each monitor.

mininum usefull resolution for multi-tabling is found on 20" i.e UXGA (1600x1200)
even my laptop is WUXGA (1920x1200)
This allows 4 tables with no overlap. each table is usually 800x600 except on places like stars.

I currently use 3 viewsonics 20" (they have a nice wide viewing angle with no fade) giving me 4800x1200 lots of room for tables and stats proggies etc.

Make sure if you get multi-monitors that you put them on a single stand (thin framed monitors too) otherwise the extra distance between screens reduces efficiency (you don't notice the problem till you fix it).

alternatively there are some super high resolution monitors now at 30" dell make one wqxga 2560 x 1600 this would give you room for 6 tables without overlap.

Don't skimp on the screens whatever you do, you will regret trying to save the cash

1600x1200 - if you are going to buy anything it needs to have this resolution. Honestly, beyond that it's purely consumer pref...

Thanks for the advice!

guess I'll go for the 20in then, I would have bought it like an idiot without actually thinking about the resolution.

I just bought a ViewSonic 3251W 32" widescreen LCD monitor.

My 19" went in the basement with the rest of the trash I have collected over the years.

After playing poker on this I'll never go back.

I see one on Nextag.com for as low as $707. How many tables can you put onscreen w/o overlapping?

find that hard to believe unless you reduced table size considerably

Dell's 30" has been the best investment I've ever made. A must-have for any serious poker player. IMO it's to be preferred over two 24"s.
