View Full Version : How to do a bcblack - for normal people

1) Decide you want a crack at some games higher than you normally play. Bcblack does this all the time and usually wins.
2) Find the table where the vpips are between 50-70 with one guy who after 200 hands is 90/0 with a WtSD of 70. Yes folks thats every single hand and most of them to the river.
3) Sit with good position on the terrible guy with most of the money you have on the site.
4) Suffer some stupid suckouts, luckily Mr. 90/0 is sooo bad that you will be breaking even.
5) get your flopped set with AA drawn out on and the table will break up.
6) move to Pacific where you see an equally good 10/20 game. Sit next to an 80/30 who is obviously up over 50BB
7) lose every hand. Check your PT stats after to confirm you won just 2 hands, 5BB with a straight and less than 1BB picked up on the flop.
8) Remember poker money is actually real money even though it is in dollars and you just lost 1 months wages from your old job. Make a mental not not to do it again because LHE is unbeatable and you lose every time you sit at a table.
Conclusion - LHE is stupid. :D

I'm getting more and more fascinated by this. Maybe someone who plays higher can help me out.
Why are these games so soft?
Where are all the sharks?
Why am I looking at a 30/60 6 max table where no one has a vpip of under 40? One guy is an 80/56!
What bank can I rob to get in this game?
We aren't talking about grinding 0.5BB/100 here, I'm seeing games that play like micros.

Pokerworld is a weird site. I do wonder why there are less sharks there. I have searched for pokerworld on 2+2 and the consensus is that it is a crappy site with no action.
As far as VPIP's a lot of the top players are playing really really loose I believe. So some of those guys may actually be very good players.
That WTSD 70 guy sounds like every opponent on PW. It is really bizarre, and you just have to wait for hands. It can take a while sometimes. I played someone HU on PW for like 4 hours before. We broke even cuz I couldn't make a pair the whole time, and he rarely folded. However last 15 minutes I got some hands finally and won his entire 70BB stack. That is really typical of my sessions against those types of opponents. Break even or lose forever, and then a few good hands and they are broke.

I know a lot of good players are loose but I've been seeing some REAL fish, some tables are full of them. I just don't understand why a lot of games are being left to them. Pacfic is a crappy site but most of the players are absolutely terrible, it seems strange that most non-US pros seem to just play at Party which despite it's reputation isn't that much of a fish tank anymore. Why play there when you can probably make 5 times more per table at Pacific. Everything about Pacific is awful apart from the games which I'm guessing is why everyone stays away but come on!
It's the same with the whole Stars thing for US players, playing with 5 pros per table is just stupid. What ever happened to the old fashioned poker players who would search out the whales and take their money rather than grinding away with pathetic edges where the table fish is someone who plays like me. Almost every small site I have played on has some incredibly bad players with very deep pockets. Remember Dlam?
I want a real roll!!

That reminds me, I did a semi-bcblack at Pacific. Can't remember the exact details. I had something like 4.75 there won a 4.40 sit and go, then won a 33 sit and go, then came in 2nd in the 10k guaranteed. That was when they kicked the USA players out. I cashed out 1500 or 1800 , or some such.

I started my roll there and left about 50 dollars in the account which I ran up to 1K, cashed most of it out and did it again. Of course I lost most of it trying the 10/20 but next time I feel like putting up with the software I'm sure I'll do it again.
You do still have an option of a big fish tank you know - Bodog! You can only play 3 tables but it's still worth it.
I played about 50 hands earlier and here is one of them, errr what are you representing exactly? I can't remember the last time I went all in with such a weak hand but knew I was ahead. I know I played it weird but it was so obvious he didn't have anything.

I have money at Bodog but I hate their software. My "old man eyes", dark backgrounds with white type is a problem. I play the big overlay tourneys sometimes. Last night 55$ 40K guarantee about a 10K overlay
