I played for 4 hours. Playing and blazing the whole time. Before I knew it I was up over $1000 on NL 400 which I bought in for $160. Everybody left the table. The last player left said something like "This guy calls everything." I checked my stats it was something like 58%, 21%, 70%, 65%. Didn't really remember what happened. I only remember I was playing everyhand for that hand only. Hard to explain but every hand I was in it felt like nothing else in the world matters except that hand. I remember calling down a lot of hands with low pockets because I was so sure the other guys have ace high. It is like I can totally "feel" what other players have.

Well it gots me thinking, maybe there are some drugs we can take to help us focus and improve our game. Something that makes a player feel confident, fearless, boost intimidation to other player, boost ability to pick up on tells ect. Has anyone done any reasearch on this subject?

Liquor/beer does the trick for me. Helps me a calm the nerves.

I wouldn't recommend getting *hitfaced when you play though.

Liquor is not for me. After I drink I get no feel whatsoever. I gets confused and scared. And I lost track of what is going on around me.

i use ritalin in small doses for poker about once a week. it works incredibly well for maintaining focus while grinding. it won't make you a better player really, just let you sit there for four hours. i would do it more but i get cracked out if i use it too much. i also smoke weed and play pretty much every day. and smoke cigarattes. my mother is so proud

He was 37 and overweight.
He did manage to lose 50 pounds, but he looked like he was 70 years old.

He eventually got busted which probably saved his life.
He's been clean now for 20 months and I pray for him every day.

i got a prescription for ridalin by telling my doctor i had a hard time concentrating, especially on menial tasks. specifically i said would be doing something and end up doing something else random without noticing i switched tasks
