What is the Poker Rake?

When you play poker at a casino (online or brick and mortar), the poker room takes a "cut" or "rake" from each pot. The poker rake is the fee you pay the Poker Room to play. Although the rake from just one pot is seemingly insignificant, experienced players know that the accumulation of rake is enormous! To combat this constant draining of your poker bankroll, you can join Rake Back Nation and get a significant percentage or what you pay to the poker room back!

What is a Poker Rakeback?

Online Poker Rakebacks explained:
Getting a Poker RakeBack is like receiving comps from a casino. Not everyone qualifies for comps in a brick and mortar casino however. The higher the level you gamble at and the more hours you play, the more likely a casino is to comp you, even if you don't ask for it. Savvy gamblers demand casino comps however, because comps are free money, and gamblers who understand concepts like win rates strive to get any edge they can. And for casino regulars, comps really add up.

The two big differences between casino comps and Rake Backs in an ionline poker room are that:

1. The online poker player must seek out a Poker RakeBack because not all sites offer it. You have to "ask" for it. Asking for a Poker RakeBack simply involves signing up as a Rake Back Nation member and selecting a link in the Member Area to one of our partner poker rooms, all of which offer Rake Back on poker play.
2. All online poker players, big and small, professional or part-time, limit or no-limit, cash game or tournament players, qualify for a Poker RakeBack.

While comps are somewhat subjective, Poker RakeBacks are very cut and dried. Poker RakeBacks are literally a rebate of the poker rake contibuted on each pot. You are paid a specific percentage of the rake that you generate. This rebate is paid to Rake Back Nation, and we in turn distribute the vast majority of this commission back to you as your Poker Rake Back.

Most poker sites determine the amount of poker rake you generate by taking the actual rake of each pot and dividing it by the number of players that were dealt cards in that hand. For example, if the pot is raked $3 and 10 people were dealt cards, then each person generated $0.30 in rake for that hand. Your Rake Back is a percentage, typically 25% to 50%, of that $0.30, regardless of whether you win or lose the hand. This may sound like a small amount, but it really adds up because of the speed of internet poker! In addition, multi-tabling can exponentially increase the rake, and therefore your Rake Back! Use our Rakeback calculator to estimate your potential RakeBack.

We believe that getting a Rake Rebate from Rake Back Nation is a key element of being successful in online poker.

Whether it covers the cost every month of a case of your favorite beer, dinner out, tickets to see your favorite team, or is enough to pay your entire rent or mortgage, getting a healthy percentage of your money back is better than letting the online poker rooms keep it. And remember, just like comps, it's free money.
