So I'm plugging along doing really well. I'm up to 115K in chips with about 400 people left. 750 places get paid, I'm already well into the money. 1st place is $150,000 and of course my eyes are on that.
I'm in about 30th place at this point. All stacks at my table are in the 10-30K range except for a guy(hereafter referred to as DonkaDonk) who has about 150K.
Blinds just went up to 2k-4k
I open raise to 12K in mid position with AT spades, really just looking to take down the blinds. All fold to DonkaDonk in the big blind, and he calls.
Flop- TT8 rainbow
DonkaDonk checks and I bet out 12k real fast to make it look like I missed and am trying to buy it, hoping that he will think that and come over the top of me. He just calls.
Turn- 7
He checks again.
Now, there's about 50K in the pot, and I have about 90K left. He has about 120K left.
I push all in. Huge overbet. Absolutely knowing I have him beat, and hoping that he will put me on a bluff/buying the pot and call with an underpair, an 8, or slight chance of an overpair.
He does call and turns over 99. Sweet!! Although he does have an open ended straight draw now, plus two nines he can hit.
Pot is about 240K.
River- 6 fdgfhgfhrgfjfjddfjddfjdfj!!!!fuk
I go from thinking I'm gonna have 240K and in my estimation easily make the final table, to being out in 379th place.
That pot would have put me in the top 3 at the time I believe. And with a huge stack like that I'm a beast. Final table no doubt and possible 1st place $150,000.
Ouch.
